West Baden

A small town with a big historical footprint. The centerpiece of this charming community is the iconic West Baden Springs Hotel, a marvel of architecture and luxury that gained fame in the early 20th century. Completed in 1902, the hotel boasted the world's largest free-span dome, an engineering marvel that contributed to its nickname, the "Eighth Wonder of the World."

West Baden, with its unique blend of history and natural beauty, offers a delightful escape for those seeking a tranquil retreat in a setting steeped in both elegance and simplicity.  With its opulent surroundings and mineral springs, it attracted the elite, including celebrities, politicians, and business magnates. Beyond the grandeur of the hotel, West Baden is set against the backdrop of scenic Southern Indiana, with lush landscapes and outdoor recreational opportunities. The town's quaint charm extends beyond the historic hotel, featuring local shops, restaurants, and the West Baden Springs Fire House, a notable historic site.

The Valley Links Course at French Lick Resort offers a unique and enjoyable golf experience for players of all ages and skill levels. Originally an 18-hole design by Tom Bendelow at the French Lick Springs Hotel, the Valley Links Course is now a fully walkable nine-hole course that retains the park-like atmosphere of the original design.

Featuring rolling fairways, Scottish-style fescue grasses, and strategically placed bunkers, this par-36 course provides a challenging yet scenic setting for golfers. With championship tee lengths of nearly 3,500 yards, experienced players are sure to appreciate the opportunity to test their skills on this course.

One of the highlights of the Valley Links Course is its family-friendly design, catering to children and beginners. In collaboration with U.S. Kids Golf, a leading junior golf company, French Lick Resort created a family golf course with two sets of tee markers. The Level 1 markers measure 1,100 yards, while the yellow tees measure 1,900 yards, offering players of all abilities a chance to enjoy the game.

Featuring a mix of par-3, par-4, and par-5 holes, the Valley Links Course provides a fun and challenging experience for juniors and beginners. Additionally, children aged 12 and under can enjoy playing the course for free, making it a perfect destination for families looking to share their love of golf in a beautiful and welcoming setting.
